Andhra Pradesh Government Plans Iconic Deep Technology Building in Amaravati

The Andhra Pradesh government has resolved to build an iconic Deep Technology building in Amaravati, the state capital. The Chief Minister reviewed the new IT policy and directed officials to take necessary actions to move forward with the plan. The goal is to establish 5 lakh IT workstations by 2029 and create new IT jobs every month. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, reviewed the new IT policy and proposed the construction of the iconic Deep Technology building in Amaravati.

Focus on Deep Technologies and Youth Empowerment

The Chief Minister emphasized that the future of youth would depend on new technologies like Artificial Intelligenceand Deep Technologies. He mentioned the establishment of a Hi-Tech City in Hyderabad to promote IT and said that Amaravati should have an iconic building focused on these technologies. Discussions were also held on offering incentives to IT developers. The Chief Minister outlined a plan to create 5 lakh workstations by 2029 and 10 lakh workstations by 2034, with a detailed strategy for co-working spaces and office complexes.

Government Initiatives for IT Growth

The state government plans to lease land for building co-working spaces and office complexes under a single-window system to simplify the approval process. The government will provide necessary infrastructure facilities and bring IT companies under industrial power tariffs. As part of the startup policy, the state government plans to offer seed funding of up to ₹25 lakh to SC, ST, BC, minority, and women entrepreneurs.

Additionally, the Chief Minister suggested the creation of five Regional Innovation Hubs in Amaravati, RayalaseemaSouth AndhraGodavari, and North Andhra. These hubs will be integrated with the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub and connected to 25 IITs across the country. The goal is to ensure that every month, new jobs are created through this initiative.

Focus on Skill Development and Rural Employment

The Chief Minister directed district collectors to identify suitable locations for setting up workstations. He also proposed an assessment to identify how many people are working from home and emphasized the need for appropriate skills training for youth in rural areas, where many are qualified but lack the necessary skills.

Incentives for IT Developers

The government has proposed various incentives for developers who provide necessary infrastructure to IT companies. These incentives will be categorized based on factors like seating capacity and office space. The proposed categories include:

  1. Co-working spaces: Minimum 100 seats or 10,000 square feet of office space.
  2. Neighborhood working spaces: Minimum 10 seats or 1,000 square feet of office space.
  3. IT Campuses: Minimum 10 lakh square feet of space, with at least 100 employees or a turnover of ₹30 crore.

The government plans to offer incentives to IT companies that meet these criteria to promote growth in the sector.
