The Andhra Pradesh government is set to expand Amaravati by acquiring 44,676 acres of land across four mandals: Tulluru, Amaravati, Tadikonda, and Mangalagiri.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) will oversee the acquisition, collecting 9,919 acres in Harischandrapuram, Vaddamanu, and Pedaparimi (Tulluru mandal); 12,838 acres in Vaikunthapuram, Endrai, Karlapudi, Mottadaka and Nidamukkala (Amaravati mandal); 16,463 acres in Kanteru (Tadikonda); and 4,492 acres in Kaja village (Mangalagiri).

The acquired land will be utilized for several key infrastructure projects. These include the construction of an international airport, outer and inner ring roads, and a new railway line originating from Errupalem.

The government has already pooled approximately 34,000 acres of land from 29 villages for the Amaravati project. Recently, tenders worth ₹31,000 crore were finalized for various development works within the new capital region.

In a related development, the AP Aviation Corporation has invited tenders for a techno-feasibility report concerning the proposed international airport project, signaling progress in aviation infrastructure plans.

Looking ahead, the government is also contemplating the acquisition of an additional 30,000 acres of land to accommodate future development projects within the Amaravati region.
