Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Designates Amaravati as Capital

Amaravati has been officially designated as the state capital of Andhra Pradesh. The decision was made by the state cabinet, led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, on May 9, 2025, according to The New Indian Express.

The cabinet also resolved to seek amendments to the AP State Reorganisation Act following the decision regarding the capital.
