Amaravati Jungle Clearance Marks Key Step in Capital’s Revival
The recent jungle clearance initiative in Amaravati marks a significant step in the revival of the capital project, which had been stalled for five years. The project, awarded to Nagarjuna Constructions Company Limited (NCC) for Rs 36.5 crore, aims to clear over 23,000 acres of thorn bushes within 30 days.
This initiative is part of the broader efforts to rejuvenate the region, which had been neglected in recent years. The jungle clearance is viewed as the first step towards the full-scale development of Amaravati, enabling farmers to locate their returnable plots.
The government has also pledged to extend pensions to landless farmers for an additional five years, as part of their ongoing support. Engineering experts from IIT Hyderabad and IIT Madras have begun inspecting the stalled construction sites, with a preliminary report expected soon to guide future decisions.
This clearance project is seen as an important milestone in the journey toward revitalizing Amaravati’s development.
