Amaravati Development Gains Momentum

Amaravati is reaffirmed as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh, with significant development projects underway.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reversed earlier plans for three capitals, recommitting to Amaravati.

The government has greenlit projects totaling ₹37,702 crore, with tenders for an additional ₹16,871 crore in the pipeline. This brings the total anticipated development expenditure to around ₹64,000 crore.

The Central Government disbursed over Rs 4,200 crore following a USD 205 million infusion from the World Bank. The World Bank and ADB have pledged a combined USD 1,600 million for the project's initial phase.
