Amaravati Development: CRDA Initiates Swift Action on Plot Registrations
The Andhra Pradesh government has intensified its efforts to expedite the Amaravati capital region development. In a major step, the government is prioritizing the allocation and registration of returnable plots for farmers who contributed land for the capital city and for those who gave land for the expansion of Gannavaram Airport.
As part of this initiative, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has established nine dedicated registration centers in the Amaravati region. These centers aim to streamline the registration process and address any concerns of beneficiaries. Additionally, a separate information coordination center has been set up to assist Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and others who have purchased plots or land in Amaravati.
Key Locations for Registration Centers
The registration centers are located in the following areas:
- Navuluru
- Kuragallu
- Nidamarru
- Penumaka
- Undavalli
- Rayapudi
- Uddandarayunipalem
- Velagapudi
- Venkatapalem
These centers aim to provide clarity on allotment issues, address pending documentation, and facilitate timely plot registrations.
Progress in Registrations
Since June 2024, following the formation of the new state government, the CRDA has completed the registration of 2,704 plots. With increasing public concerns and urgency surrounding the development, the government aims to instill confidence among stakeholders by fast-tracking the process.
Infrastructure Plans for Amaravati
The state government has also unveiled plans to revive and complete stalled construction projects in Amaravati. It has allocated approximately ₹11,500 crore for various infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, drinking water facilities, and electricity supply. For the development of colonies in areas with returnable plots, tenders worth ₹3,600 crore are being prepared, with work expected to commence by the end of December.
Expedited Timelines
The CRDA has been directed to complete all registrations and allotments within the next 10 to 15 days. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of swift action in advancing Amaravati's development and ensuring seamless execution of related processes.
With these measures, the state government and CRDA are demonstrating a focused commitment to building confidence among stakeholders and accelerating Amaravati’s progress as a world-class capital region.
